5th Annual Alpha Phi Alpha, Gamma Phi Lambda, Casino Royale

The Gamma Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will be hosting its 5th Annual Casino Royale Fundraiser on Saturday April 14, 2012 from 730pm to midnight.

The event will be held at the Washington Inn in downtown Oakland, which will be turned into a Vegas style casino. The Washington Inn is located at:

495 10th Street - Oakland, CA 94607

Come try your luck at craps, black jack, roulette, and poker. Your winning chips can be used to bid on some exciting prizes. Past years’ prizes have included flat screen high definition televisions, video game consoles, vacation packages, local sports packages, certificates to top local restaurants, and more.

This event is the primary fundraiser for the Gamma Phi Lambda Education Foundation, which funds the Alpha Academy Mentorship Program. The Academy currently has 6 local high school students who are paired with mentors who meet for regularly scheduled meetings, field trips, SAT prep, and curriculum review. The ultimate goal is to make every student college eligible and ensure they matriculate to college. All funds raised at this event further this effort.

Tickets are only $40 each and will include $100 in gaming chips, a complimentary cocktail, and hors d’oeuvres. Your contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed under the law.
