The program will create a platform for the celebration of our Alpha Academy students (high school mentees) in a manner that honors the history of our organization and which will bring forth profits to support the academy’s endeavors and the fraternity’s operations.
This anniversary celebration will serve as a forum for the Northern California District and guests to participate in some of our mentoring, raise money for scholarships, and create a space for young men to develop their oratory skills. To be clear, this event is not designed to merely be a celebration for Alpha brothers but to also engage members of the community as these young black men display their budding intellectual identities while also presenting the history of the fraternity as we mark 106 years. Each mentee will select a historical speech in Black History to use as their oratorical piece and will speak for a total of 2-3 minutes.
